Love Letters is a perfect play for the month of February, when valentines
pass through the hands of young and old. Iguana Productions remounts its successful
summer offering about longed for kisses, and destinies entwined. The letters
are sweet and bittersweet that span two lifetimes.
This popular play has been performed frequently around the world, including
San Miguel. Its premiere performance opened in August, 2006 for 5 performances
with the current cast and director. Comments from that audience, some shown
below, encouraged us to bring Love Letters back for the New Year to the very
popular Villa Jacaranda Theater. Our resolution is to present LOVE LETTERS
to a new audience at an even more theatrical venue:
"Professional quality theatre finally comes to
San Miguel in the form of Love Letters, poignant and hilarious at the same time.
Billie Bremer and David Hunter are two pro quality actors at the top of their
game, expertly directed by Kirsten Dehner."
–
Roy Sorrels, New York actor and playwright.
“Fantastic experience on Friday night - it was
exceptional! Broadway Quality in every respect. We thoroughly enjoyed it!”
–Tom
Stephens, San Miguel
“Newly arrived in SMA, otra vez, what to do on a Friday night? And so to the
theatre!!!
Being a theatre fan, London, New York & now SMA, this play measured up to
the very best.
"Love Letters" was outstanding, captivating, a must see. The Actors were
professional, excellent.
We loved it - seeing how their lives were unfolding.
We recommend this to everyone.”
–
Roberta Starke, February 14, 2007
“This production would make A.R. Gurney proud!
I felt his presence and delight.”
–Barbara Herrick, former Obies producer
